The Process

How do I submit a pattern for a tech editing quote?

Please use the Tech Edit Request Form to submit a pattern for a tech editing estimate. Using this form ensures that I get all the information necessary to give a complete and thorough quote.

How long will it take to get an estimate?

Due to time commitments of my full-time employment, I will only be able to review request in the evenings most days with the exception of alternating Friday/Saturday schedule and Sundays. Usually, you will receive an estimate within one to two business days.

How do I schedule a pattern to be tech edited?

Once an agreement about services has been reached, I will send you a link to my calendar via Calendly. Please select a time slot that works best for you and/or for what was discussed during the consultation period. Blocks of time will be available for scheduling at least one month in advance, usually two.

What is the turnaround time to get a pattern tech edited?

My turnaround time is scheduled around my current commitments from my full-time employment. At the time of scheduling your pattern to be worked on, I will be able to give a definitive due date of when your pattern will be returned with edits.

Due to the detailed nature of the work, it’s important to walk away from editing a pattern at least overnight in order to return with fresh eyes to give a final read through before submitting it back to you, the designer. Therefore, turnaround time will usually be 5 to 7 business days for the initial review.

What can I expect to receive from you after my pattern is tech edited?

I will not change your pattern but indicate discrepancies, inconsistencies, and provide suggestions through an annotated PDF. Also included will be any additional notes and a detailed summary to help explain the markups.

If you have any questions about any of the mark ups or suggestions, please contact me so we can discuss.

After you have received my edits and made any corrections, I am more than happy to review your pattern again. There may be multiple reviews needed.
